Will this be worth it?
Deciding the cost of a conference is never easy! I think there’s just something built into us that makes us want to get something great for as little as possible! Everyone loves a bargain!
That said, i’m the kind of person who’s willing to pay for something if i feel that i’ll get something valuable in return. I use what i call the “McDonald’s Index”
For example:
I see a CD i like for £12.99. It’s on sale. Do i buy it? The question i ask myself is, will i get £12.99 worth of enjoyment, value or personal growth from it?
Is it worth sacrificing 3 trips to McDonalds for the CD?
Strange aren’t i?
So the MEC:
£75 for a student is a lot of money? Do i believe you’ll get £75 worth of value from the conference? Even if you didn’t get a free awesome looking T-Shirt, i would definitely say yes! What kind of price do you put on good conversations, deepened friendships, a weekend away? What price do you put on encountering God?
I promise it’s definitely worth more than 18 trips to McDonalds!
