At the moment, he often preaches in various Chinese Christian churches and student fellowships in the south- east and middle of England.

English Speaker - Paul Coulter

There are two questions you shouldn't ask Paul unless you have some time: 'Who are you?' and 'What do you do?' His answers to those questions are based on three calls from God on His life.

Firstly, he is called to belong to God. So, although he is an Irish man with Scottish ancestry, born and living in Northern Ireland, carrying a British passport, and married to a Chinese Malaysian wife, in the end of the day he is simply a child of God and a follower of Jesus Christ. He wants everything he does to be the outworking of that calling as he follows the Spirit's leading. He especially loves walking because of the time it gives him for prayerful reflection.

Secondly, he's called to be a husband and father. That's why family time is unashamedly at the heart of his schedule and why he loves to chat about his wife Gar-Ling and their kids, Joseph (5) and Hannah (3). Thirdly, he's called to be a servant of Christ for the sake of the gospel. In his case that means focusing most of his time on teaching the Bible, speaking at apologetics and evangelistic events, and training younger leaders (in churches, through conferences and at Belfast Bible College) but it is also the motivating force in the other things he does (seeking to live out the gospel in serving people as a Lay magistrate in Belfast and as a Board member of the Patient and Client Council for Health and Social Care in Northern Ireland).

God's preparation for these callings lies behind the story of Paul's life to this date - his childhood in a Christian home, teenage years in education and frequent short term missions, early adulthood studying medicine and working as a doctor for three years, then in church leadership and ministry with the Chinese Church in Belfast and another church near Belfast, and now studying part time for a PhD in theology with International Christian College in Glasgow and Aberdeen University.
